Hillside development ordinance update

A longtime hillside property owner who's exhausted by the years-long process, he supports DeSena's five-acre exemption idea and higher cubic-yard thresholds, saying small owners like him are held to unfair standards while big projects get state-law breaks.

A developer frustrated after six years, he argued the original goal was protecting hillside views from the I-15, I-215, and major roads — and proposed a simple line-of-sight test: if your project can't be seen from those corridors, the hillside ordinance shouldn't apply.
