Murrieta Hot Springs Resort cultural resource designation

A federally qualified architectural historian who helped prepare the nomination explained how the Mills Act renewal works, which parcels fall inside the historic boundary, and how plaque/landmark options would work.

A principal of the resort's ownership group said the intent is to honor the resort's legacy and the water's significance, including outreach and site access for the Pechanga tribe.

The Chamber of Commerce president/CEO urged the commission to approve, calling the resort a game changer and praising the owners as community partners committed to preservation beyond any tax benefit.
